there's something in the air
that feels something like impatience and helplessness
though hope insists and persists
at one point in time everyday
my head would feel light and bloated
then hot water would burst and flow from there
to the nearest entrance to a world worthy of loathness
but a big ball rolled of realities that i need to swallow and digest
it is needed a heavy burden to carry every waking, walking,
sitting, talking, standing, listening, eating, and sleeping hour
yet my heart is thankful
so thankful for this disheartening experience
and for those to come
i'm ready
my heart's ready
finally

Writing challenge for the walking dead

Write a 20-line poem where every line begins with the first letter of your first name. The only rule is that it can’t be about you. (http://www.writersdigest.com/prompts)

Dawn is breaking but not after four hours or so and
Dreaming of her is near impossible for
Dry and cracked is the path towards redemption
Death endowed to all hopes of even seeing her
Dwarfed by the enormous efforts of the heavens and earth to be at her side and
Damned to not move in this unhappy place
Draw him to her so he can erase all the 'uns' in his life
Direct him, if not, give him a hint to that buoyant star pointing to her though
Darkness looms around like a stiff blanket, four end-knots tied to the ends of the universe
Does she know this?
Does she feel his heart aching through the wails of his discontentment?
Deny everything she can about him except the truth that
Day by day he crushes every ounce of doubt and uncertainty just to go on loving her
Draining waters of pride with only one thing in mind
Der is perfect timing
Da more he insists on doing it his own way
Da less God will give him her so
Da one thing he can do now is pray and wait
Dat is the only way because
Der is no better one than that.

"Hindi mabuti ang isang bagay kapag hindi tinapos," Kuya Daniel says.

Sorry though 'cause my brain couldn't produce words starting with "D" anymore. :D

The Circle of Anamnesis

I've been coloring an adult book these past few months.  And I just thought of coming up with my own pattern.

Thinking of shapes was not as hard as it seem. What's difficult was how my brain was collecting memories while I sketched and tossed the paper around. Then it became a useless diversion.

I was thinking of filling up an entire paper with patterns similar to this one.

What do you think, my not-so-oblivious brain? ;)

Thoughts on Rainy Sunday Morning

This is my view from where I’m stuck because of the weather.
I’m not really complaining except that I want to go home and spend time with family. I haven’t really been at home lately because of work. Though it’s fulfilling that with God’s help and mercy and my co-staff’s support and effort, I was able to accomplish my tasks but without flaws of course. ;) So, I’m going to have to make do of my time here in the office while this storm is passing through. I’m thinking of a lot of activities including the ones I miss doing lately:
1. Read classic novels. I have e-books but I prefer hardbound this time.
2. Sketch faces.
3. Eat noodles with hopia. ;)
4. Play guitar and make covers.
5. Color my Secret Garden book.
6. Watch Sci-Fi and Tagalog RomCom movies.
7. Munch hot pandesal with butter.
8. Write poems while drinking hot Lipton tea with fresh milk. (specific talaga hehe)
9. Plan my to dos for the next two months.
10. Delete e-mail notifications.
11. Think of the opening line for the next chapter of my long-overdue novel.
12. Violin practice,
13. Learn pastel drawing.
14. Make music lessons for nieces.
15. Search for online writing jobs.
Okay. That’s it. I have to work now. Lol. :D

In between toothaches.

One side of my head is aching because of toothache.  :)
This excruciating pain started this morning as I was to go about my daily routine.  At lunchtime, it was already unbearable that I had to stop what I was doing and just lay my head on the table.  Then I realized I had to pray so it would subside because I still have tasks to finish.  I prayed really hard. Until such time, I was even promising things I would do just so the pain would go away instantly.
I thought once my head stopped throbbing, I would not waste time and do everything before it starts disturbing me again.  This led me to a realization that I should be thankful and grateful for every opportunity that is being given to me. I should race against my toothache, so to speak.  :)

The face that launched a thousand *&#@%!

I was being transported to work this morning by a bus.  Everything was fine and dandy from the the time I woke up until I stepped into that green bus which I personally prefer more than any other bus lines.
I was with my friend.  Seated next to her by the window side, I felt dizzy watching the ‘The Avengers’ from a TV monitor mounted on top of the vehicle’s dashboard.  But then I realized it was because of the bus driver’s ‘very skillful’ driving moves that I was almost on the verge of throwing up right from where I was seated.  Shunning the thought of reprimanding the driver, I tried not to look at the TV monitor anymore.  Instead, I looked out the window in search of anything to clear out my dizziness.
A motor bike slowly passed by the side of the bus while the latter was making a turn into a street.  I saw the face of the driver of the bike; he was trying to be careful not to veer the bike too closely to the side of the bus. Then suddenly, like an earthworm being sprinkled by the deadly table salt, the bus made its quick turn.  I got scared because I heard someone scream from outside the bus.
That incident haunted me until my friend and I were about to step out of the bus. (And I still had good thoughts about the bus driver then.)
When my friend was beside the door, just waiting for other vehicles to pass by before she could finally step out of the bus, the bus driver told her, “Hihintayin mo pa ‘atang dumaan lahat ng sasakyan bago ka bumaba.’  Still keeping my calm, I just looked at him.  That was when I saw ‘the face’.  When it was my turn to step out, the door suddenly flipped open , imprisoning me right there at the last step of the bus.  I looked at ‘the face’ again but this time really memorizing each line, hue, texture, size, and depth of it.
I will never forget ‘that face’.
(I think it’s also wise not to ride in that green bus ever again.)
